THANKS
Thank you
Although it is
far past the point of first impressions, I just wanted to write a quick summary
and thank you to everybody involved in the program. My time in the school
with Ana Maria has been amazing. They allowed me to take on a comfortable
amount of responsibility within the classroom and I am leaving with an awesome
experience, great memories, and countless friends. We just finished a
unit on animals and it was great to watch the students work on their final
project and gain such knowledge throughout the unit. Thank you to
everybody involved in making Teach in Spain possible!

I could not have
had a better time working at Pedro I in Tordesillas. All of the teachers I
worked with were wonderful and I learned so much from each of them. I gained
very good insight into teaching and education, I know that everything I learned
during my time here will be very helpful in my future. The students were
fantastic as well. I loved their energy and excitement. There was never a dull moment
during the week! They were so kind to me during my stay and they made me happy
every day! They made me the sweetest cards on my last day of school as well, it
was adorable.

I'm so glad that I
was able to do this program, and CIEE did a great job at finding the
schools and places for us to work and also learn in comfortable and friendly
environments. My homestay was phenomenal. I had the best family. They were so
kind and welcoming to me. I felt like I was right at home! I will be so sad to
leave them, as well as the students and teachers at school. I'm hoping to come
back for a visit as soon as I can!

Hello All,
I have returned back to the US, but wanted to share
with you that my experience as a volunteer in Sepulveda was the best experience
I've ever had. Being in a small village and working in a school with students
from age 6 to 17 was exactly the challenge I was looking for. On my last day I
received gifts from my students and some of the teachers as well, which made me
burst into tears. It was totally unexpected and it really meant so much. I
really miss the students so much. My last week in Spain after classes ended was
spent in the south of Spain during Semana Santa, and this was when I truly fell
in love with Spain. I went to Granada, Cadiz, Cordoba and Sevilla. I am
planning on moving to either Granada or Sevilla before the end of this year. I
love everything about Spain and have decided to make it my home. I am truly
grateful for the CIEE Teach Abroad experience. I wish you all the best in the
future.
Thank you for
giving me this wonderful opportunity. It has surpassed my expectations in every
way. I have loved creating lessons plans and teaching in the classroom. The
teachers and administrators at my school in Ponferrada have been very welcoming
and very supportive. They have also been open to my ideas and been willing to
let me try many new things with the students.
The students have
also been very friendly and eager to learn the different subjects I had the
opportunity to teach, including PE and music. I have been very impressed with
their knowledge of English grammar and their willingness to demonstrate it in
reading, writing and in speaking.
My teaching week
was structured in such a way that I have also been able to travel to other
cities on the weekends to experience more of Spain. The two Spanish lessons
each week have helped me with my speaking and comprehension of Spanish in a
very short period of time!
In addition, I
have had a wonderful experience with my host family. It will be very difficult
to leave Ponferrada because of the wonderful experience I have had with them
and at the school.
Thank you, again
for this wonderful opportunity.

I am thankful for the way you, Jessica, and
the school community welcomed me into the classroom these past three
months. I hope my presence at school and in Herrera has helped
provide a face and context to the childrens' English acquisition. It
was exciting to see the rapid improvement of the students' writing and comfort
speaking in English, particuraly that of the younger classes, which I
believe highlights the strength and year-to-year improvement of the
bilingual program. I had a wonderful experience.
